Assistance Information and Process

Operation Hope ministries and resources are available for individuals and families living within the Landrum/Spartanburg School District One area. OH’s Assistance Outreach Ministry and offices have moved to the left side of 108 W. Rutherford St., Landrum. We’re next to Landrum Drug and across from Landrum’s new Farmers Market, Burke’s & Dollar Tree. Assistance is available Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 11 – 4pm.

Appointments are appreciated so please call 864-457-1005 or message us via FaceBook.

Financial Assistance is provided for individuals and families to help meet their current basic needs which include, but are not limited to utilities and water upon disconnection notice and other means of heating. NOTE: We do not assist with housing payments (rent or mortgage) at this time.

No monetary funds are distributed to clients for any reason.

Commitments are made to utility/medical vendors and paid directly.
Vouchers are issued for clothes/household items within the Operation Hope Thrift Store.
Payments for medical or prescription expenses are approved by the director and coordinated with a local pharmacy.

The Assistance Process:

Make an appointment with the Director of Operation Hope and bring with you the following items:

  • Verification of residence in the Landrum/Spartanburg District One area. Example: a current bill reflecting your address, bank statement, tax or insurance bill.
  • A current and valid driver’s license or state photo ID, or passport.
  • Proof of household income for all persons living in the residence. Example: Current pay check stub, copy of alimony or child support check, government support, food stamps, etc,
  • The actual bill(s) for which assistance is being requested

At your first visit, you and our intake personnel will go through a fairly lengthy intake form. Afterwards, the form will be updated.

Your information will entered into CharityTracker, a confidential software program of United Way of the Piedmont.

As the director or intake person gets to know you during the intake interview, a decision will prayerfully be made as to the best way Operation Hope may offer a HANDUP to you rather than a handout based on the resources available at that time.
