2025-2026 District One Tuition Assistance Award

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS/ELIGIBILITY

  • Must reside in Campobello (29322), Landrum (29356), or Gowensville (29356).
  • Must have attended a school in Spartanburg School District One for grades 1st through 12th grade.
  • Obtain a high school diploma at the end of the 2025-2026 school year (May 2026).
  • Must enroll for Fall 2026 at a technical/trade school, college, or university.
  • Must provide proof of 20 hours of volunteer or community service during your high school years (9th-12th).

RECIPIENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Recipients must volunteer for 15 hours at Operation Hope, Inc., the summer before beginning the Fall 2026 semester.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE NOTE:

Applications are available in your Guidance Counselor’s office at Landrum High School, Chapman High School or at Operation Hope Thrift Store and online at www. Operationhopelandrum.org.

NOTE: Application package must include all required portions of the applications and must arrive at Operation Hope Inc., on or before Friday, 2/27/2026:

Copy of applicants’ high school transcript through semester 1 senior year.

Recommendation letters from two of the applicants’ current or former high school teachers

A 200+ word double-spaced essay using 12-font Times New Roman authored by the applicant:

  • Describe your hopes and dreams for your future,
  • Describe people who have been influential in your life,
  • Share about your faith journey.
  • What do you believe are your gifts or talents?
  • What are your hobbies? What do you do fun?
  • Share how you have helped others in your life; or, how someone has helped you.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • Operation Hope board, volunteers and executive director will review all scholarship applications.
  • All applicants must attend an interview with the Executive Director and a board member.
  • Scholarships awarded will be based on essays illustrating applicant character, recommendation letters, and interview.

SCHOLARSHIP VALUE UP TO $500.00

  • Notifications to recipients will be on Senior Awards Night.
  • The scholarship money will be sent as a check directly to the tech school, college, or university in July of 2026.
